Test-Run to Sedona

Awoke fairly early Thursday with a crisp feel to the air and immediately wanted a hot cup of coffee -- wished the guides from the "Lares Valley Trek" in Peru were here to provide the coffee instead of the hot coca tea -- though the tea would probably have done just fine.  Decided to get online to make final check on exit route out of Mesa/Tempe and connection for trip to Sedona -- possible route through Carefree.

The trip to Sedona in the Jeep went quickly -- up 101 to 17N -- about a 2 hour drive each way and was thankfully uneventful.  It was rather dusty and dry most of the way -- skipped the thought of going back through Carefree and Cave Wind where I had spent that July 4th reunion with Carolyn (FHS cheerleader and now Phd Psychology with her own clinic).  Did stop at Sunset Point on way up to Sedona and took pics and checked directions to Sedona with the attendant there (Rt 179 straight off Rt. 17 -- about 15 miles he said).
