Well, lost my mud flap yesterday morning getting out of Calusa Campground (had to crawl under the Winnebago and take it off while the diesel was still running) -- the right-side steel support on the frame had busted open and the U-bolt attachment dropped out. It is now occupying the greater right half of space in the Jeep until I get it out today and lay it under the Winnebago while I decide what to do with it -- really one heavy-duty mud flap that protects the Jeep when it's being towed so, will ponder how to get it reattached. That happened to be my workout for the day.
Also, need to check the left, front hydraulic leveller as it would not fully raise to the "stored position" -- causing a beeping sound all the way down here (made several stops along the roadside to check it and attempted numerous times to get it all the way up). Wasn't a comforting thought on the drive down and the beeping sound is still in my head -- probably the twins heads too.

Did arrive here safely and narrowly missed getting hit by a falling coconut after parking the RV and walking to the check-in station at the entrance to the resort and campground -- Friday the 27th will be etched in my mind for more than one reason. When I arrived at my "Deluxe Pull-Thru" site, the RV in the adjacent spot had most of their stuff sitting in the space I had just paid for and their patio awning extended into my site so that I could not pull in (they didn't answer my knocks on the door either). Unhooked the Jeep and pulled it around to the other end of the space and jockeyed my RV as far as possible into the site -- walked back to the check-in station to let them know of the problem and went back to pop a beer while waiting for the occupants of the other RV to return. Apparently, they were down at the marina walking their little dogs and checking on their boat parked at the marina.

Charley and Judy seemed nice enough on meeting them but, he seemed to be a "Mr. Know-it All" and was a bit more of a pain-in-the-ass than he needed to be. Said, he had been doing this 35 years and told the office people the side-by-side spaces weren't adequate -- actually he had his rig parked cock-eyed and a couple feet farther in my direction than it should have been. He wasn't going to move his rig over and at first he wasn't going to retract his awning -- I told him that seemed to be a bit unreasonable on his part -- thought I might have to go to blows with this little jerk (maybe from New York is my guess). Well, after chopping off half of a small palmetto plant (by Todd the resort manager), I maneuvered my rig as close to the sewer line as possible and pulled almost to the end of my space to get the sliders out on the driver's side (obviously, moved my Jeep to the other end of my site).

Settled in, levelled the rig, got the sliders out and the AC turned on so Tiger and Molly could emerge from hiding and get acquainted with the new surroundings -- popped another Coors-Lite and walked around the marina to see where things were and see if there happened to be anyone at the fish cleaning stations.
Two groups of fishermen were of immediate interest and one seemed active at the far cleaning table so, passed by the group of young guys tieing up their small boat to see what the others were cleaning -- a flock of Pelicans were eagerly interested too and were swimming about in the waters below the cleaning table. Never saw so many Pelicans in one place before.
The three guys were cleaning a number of Red Snappers and three nice Mangrove Snappers -- all caught from the Channel Five bridge it turned out (same bridge I had previously been too and just a half mile from the campgound entrance).
After taking a few more pictures, I headed back to the party of guys from the boat and arrived as they were loading out a large cooler full of something -- took two guys to handle the cooler. They drove it down to a nearby station in front of the marina store where they hung the King Mackerel for picture taking.
Well, Charley mellowed out (by directions given by his wife -- the boss he said) and before I headed to the marina, he had indicated the fact he had the boat and he might come knocking sometime, if I wanted to join him for some fishing. I saw him too at the marina in his small boat with two big Honda engines parked next to a much bigger fishing boat -- forgot to take a picture (maybe next time or if I do get that knock on the door).
I grabbed some of my cut bait and a few of the small bait fish I had caught back in Key Largo and headed for that bridge -- since there still was some daylight left. Only managed to hook one more of those Needle-fish (unhooked itself when I got it up on dry land and flopped itself back over the side into the water) and did catch this small beautiful fish of some kind -- something new everytime, it seems.
