Big One Got Away

Feb. 1st is nearly gone and the wind is dying down a little, thank goodness but, the wind didn't keep me from fishing today and will be dreaming of another day of fishing.  And Oh Man!  I had this big fish on the line this afternoon -- it had my rod doubled over when I hooked it and then it headed under the bridge (against the current) and took my line into the rocks where it snapped the line just above the steel leader of the hook.  There was a couple on the bridge fishing at the time just a little farther down the bridge and they could see that I had hooked something big -- after I used all my live shrimp, I gave them the spot and wished them better luck.

Tomorrow, I may use my heavier rod and line in the same spot and try to keep the bugger (or his brother) from doing the same thing -- we'll see if that works or not.
