Best Buffet in Albuquerque -- 4 Years in a Row
Well, they have my vote now too. After getting a trickle charger this morning and getting my Jeep's battery fully charged, I headed west to that Route 66 Casino and Hotel -- hoping to arrive before the 3:00 p.m. deadline for us "Seniors".
First, I had to get a "Player's Card" at the big window with the lighted words above it -- didn't cost a thing and I got $3 of "free play" on the card (I'm guessing that would probably last all of 5 minutes to spend). Felt like Thanksgiving in April and am I glad I didn't wear a belt -- it would have been required to open a couple notches or more. I first had a big plate of Asian food and then another heaping plate with BBQ -- a quarter of a chicken, a thick slice of beef, 1/2 an ear of corn, a candied yam, and a thick sliced country rib (almost like a steak). Then, I could only fit one dessert on top of all that (for fear I might get sick from overindulging). Phewee!
Good thing it only happens on Thursdays and Fridays -- it will take a week to be ready for another feast like that. In the meantime, I can now focus on those taxes and hope to enjoy many sunrises and sunsets while sitting here at American RV park. Plenty of time too to get Tiger out and familiar with the surroundings -- did so twice so far today and he had his tail twitching on many occasions as we scared lizards and rabbits from the surrounding low bushes.
Will sit tight for the weekend and let the locals and weekenders take over the sights and the historic town of Albuquerque -- let the weather warm up some too.
