The Moon Returns (to the night sky)
Decided to get up to be sure but, did see the moonrise in the early evening last night (dinner time) and felt encouraged that the cycle of the tides might drop back to something more normal instead of the 2 daily tides (16 hours or more apart) we had for nearly 2 weeks -- maybe the fishing would improve too and I could catch some of those sea trout (big ones I could keep too and share with the twins). With coffee in hand (nuked from yesterday mornings pot), the nearly full moon shines clearly in the western sky and is probably a couple hours from settling behind the Palms, Pines and other trees -- as the gusty winds from the east continue to buffet the RV and its little awnings.
The creaking and popping noises from the awnings sometimes has me thinking that some of the little creatures (like the grey lizards) are clambering about and looking for openings into the RV and its warmth inside -- especially when the past two mornings have been slightly chillier than most. I have come across more than a few of them when I have opened some of the storage compartments and the flushing station or the electrical connections compartment -- one or two more on the picnic table whenever I have cooked on the grill too. Just hope the slithering creatures are keeping their distance and that any gators are staying close to the Everglades and its fresh waters to the south.
Time to check tides4fishing.com and then back to bed for a couple more hours of shut-eye.
5:51 A.M. UPDATE: Answering Mother Nature's call (in response to consuming the cup of coffee earlier in the morning), I hesitated long enough to look out the driver's side window to check on the "Waxing Gibbous" orb's progress and found it had already made its departure from the western sky (per the 5:54 time in the tides4fishing tables). Winds have eased up a bit so maybe 12:00 to 2:00 will be my scheduled time for fishing (again per the tables checked earlier) -- just hope the winds don't blow my every cast back into my face (when and if I make it to Tropical Point).
