Old Man Winter -- Hanging On

Here I am some 180 miles directly south of my summer quarters in South Fork, Colorado but, the days ahead (and perhaps the weeks too) seem to have some forecasts that indicate he (old man winter) is not moving north anytime soon -- nor will I until he makes his move.  In the meantime, I have been getting things thoroughly cleaned both in the Jeep and inside the big rig -- defrosted the fridge and cleaned the lower sections as well today, vacuumed the Jeep and reorganized the possessions stowed in it (golf clubs, fishing gear and the two carved wood figures).  Still need to do another load of laundry to get the sand and salt out of towels, hats and other things from the Jeep.

Restocked the fridge today with more Coors Light and a liter bottle of wine for the coming days (or maybe a week or so).  Walked Tiger about a couple times and we saw numerous lizards and a few rabbits but, didn't quite get close to either of those critters.  Did note the small clouds blowing in from the west seemed to dissipate as they hovered and blew toward the east or south east -- leaving mostly clear blue skies overhead.

I drove to the Walmart and then farther to the north looking for a beer/wine store but, had to settle for a CVS some 5 miles north of the Walmart.  Also, drove around the neighborhoods just west of the Rio Grande river and enjoyed seeing the sandstone colored homes with memories of the old Burch house in Denver -- with some rounded sections and slotted vertical windows.  Made me think my mom and dad must have been here or in Santa Fee sometime in their early married or dating life and were heavily influenced by what they had seen then -- enough to buy that house on Quitman Street perhaps without looking more closely at the plumbing (no hot water or connection to the sewer).
