Not So "Super" Bowl Party

Well, compared to last year's party at my place where many of my neighbors joined me at my place, this one was just "blah" -- it even rained heavily a couple times during the first half (as I cheered for one team or the other to make good on the numbers I had in the pools).  If only the Giants had kicked that extra point instead of going for the two points, I might have won a couple hundred bucks (more bait and tackle money) but, could only enjoy the dry surroundings of my RV bedroom during the second half as some consolation.

Rainy past few days has made the fishing not so good and the constant threat of winds and more rain has kept me away from the nearby bridge -- the thought still lingers in my mind to go back one evening to try for that Tarpon (have my biggest pole and reel rigged and ready).  Maybe soon as I fear the feasting on the shrimp will stop and the opportunity gone for this year -- we'll see.

Only caught one keeper yesterday after two outings in the nearby canal of the resort -- young gals caught some really nice ones a couple days ago and I'm looking for a couple of those for me, Tiger and Molly.  The one I kept last night, I probably would have put back but, he had swallowed the hook and the line broke off when I attempted to get it out -- leaving the hook firmly stuck inside its mouth.  Turned out it had a couple gashes in its side too so, it probably wouldn't have lived long even if I put it back.

I skipped the usual gathering last night at Sunset Point so that I could try to catch that elusive lunker.

I will try again this afternoon just before the 3:00 p.m. low-tide and maybe will be a little luckier.
