In between cat naps with Tiger and Molly (mostly Molly as Tiger seems to prefer the leather covered passenger seat), I have been readying the RV for the exit from Pine Island tomorrow morning. Hopefully, I will navigate the narrow draw bridge in Matlacha without any difficulties -- it looks even more narrow from this side as the construction of a new span has pinched in on the lanes with some fencing above the concrete and metal barriers on the east bound side. Felt tight even for my Jeep when I have been that way a half dozen times.

Tropical Point Coconuts |
Really pretty humid here now as the threat of some rain had me out picking up the corner weights (coconuts) from the outdoor carpet -- brushing it, rolling it and storing it away in its compartment. Have spent some time cleaning and sharpening fishing gear and rods and reels -- hoping that 10 ft pole will get a nice workout when I get to the Clearwater Pier or a nice beach nearby. Put away most of the deck furniture and washed all the dishes so I can get them tucked away again. Will pull in the bedroom slide shortly and stuff pillows in the "secret passages" that Molly found previously in her discoveries. Later, will try that leveller again to see if it might just get in the "stored" position and not beep all the way to Vacation Village.

Matlacha - Eastbound, I think |
Did manage to reserve another stop along the Gulf in Panama City Beach as of this morning and even received my confirmation a little earlier. It's called the Emerald Coast RV Beach Resort -- looks lush and is less pricey than the places in or near Destin (most full anyway). It will be about a 6-1/2 hour drive so, that will be better too than the 7 or 8 hours to those other places. Beats the $100 a day those other places wanted too.
Goodbye Pine Island -- will only miss Matlacha and Sanibel Island. Too bad the folks in the office here didn't tell me about Matlacha during my first days here and when I asked about access to the water. Duh, to them and Tropical Point too.
