Too Much to See - Too Little Time
If only I could have one of those two weeks back that I wasted in Pine Island, it would be better spent seeing more of what the Tampa area has to offer. One week is not enough but, I already have the next spot in Panama City Beach paid for so will have to leave Monday morning. Might have been nice to get over to the Shriners Hospitals for Children headquarters where I had worked on an exhibit there -- included John Wayne's gun collection. Maybe even run into the Imperial Potentate who is currently Mike Severe (my client contact with Shriners for the years I worked with them). Oh well! I've seen all that already.
Would like to get better pictures of those gated mansions in Belleair Beach rather than the "drive-by shots" I currently have in my folder of pics. Right now my mind is leaning toward that short jaunt up to Dunedin where Honeymoon Island and Caladesi Island are located -- Caladesi Isand was America's #1 Beach 2008 and is accessible by ferry from Honeymoon Island (15 or 16 miles north). Part of me is also leaning toward making a run south to the Sunshine Skyway and its fishing piers on the north side (only 18 to 20 miles away).
Awoke to mother nature's call this morning around 5:39 after one of the best strings of continuous hours of sleep in weeks -- maybe it was the combination of staying up late working on my blog; having a late salad and glass of milk for dinner (around 10:00 p.m.); being tired from the sun and walking/fishing; mixed in with the relief of knowing I have a spot reserved for Memorial Day weekend (my son's wedding). After laying back down at 5:40, Molly came for some head scratching and there was a "popping" sound from the RV -- sounded like the springs of that troublesome leveller just might have pulled it back in completely. Maybe that saying, "Some things just fix themselves" could be true but, I didn't run out with a flashlight to check -- just hope that is the case. Would be nice to make the next leg of the journey without hearing that "beeping" sound.
