Haboobs Habound

Seemingly, they must assuredly be all around as the winds continue to blow at over 30 mph and higher and visibility seems to diminish as I look to the southeast and can barely make out some distant objects beyond the campground and its barbed wire fences -- only desert and low grass and weeds to the horizon there.  In the direction of Kirland AFB and Los Lunas some 20 miles south of Albuquerque, I think -- mountains in the distance totally obscured by the blowing dust that creates almost white out conditions -- only smidgeons of blue occasionally appear to the southwest among some of the high flying clouds (most probably made up with large amounts of blowing sand and dust in them).

I can only imagine that over the hill from here in the direction of Albuquerque, the interstate is really a challenge to drive with reduced visibility and the winds continuing to blow across the highway (there is a sand dune next to the interstate and lots of ATV/4 wheeler's trails there with loose sand ready to be picked up by the wind).  I had been in that direction earlier today but, running slightly parallel to visit the closest Albertsons store and pick up another bottle of wine and a small bottle of Gin (for more of those Long Island Iced Teas).  Glad I made it back when I did and am content to just stay inside and let mother nature do her thing -- as I enjoy some Coors Lights (with lime wedges added).  Thawing the last of the remaining Whiting from Port Aransas -- part of the group I had caught to win the fishing contest there at Pioneer Beach.  Small but, will be tasty still I am sure and Tiger, no doubt, will be pawing at the edge of the table when I am enjoying one of them.

I charged the Jeeps battery again yesterday afternoon and again for about 4 hours this morning but, am convinced that something is still wrong there and may have to venture to the nearest Interstate Battery store tomorrow to get some confirmation and resolution before I head for some of the local sights.  No rush with these weather conditions.
